How does Runhome work?
Runhome handles home repairs for you, from the first photo to the finished job. Send photos of the problem and describe it in chat, and Runhome gives you a price estimate for your ZIP code in minutes. Runhome then calls vetted contractors, checks and negotiates their pricing, and sends you one price to approve. After you approve, Runhome schedules the work and follows up until the job is done. You don't call or chase anyone.
How much does Runhome cost?
Getting an estimate from Runhome is free, with no signup fee or subscription. If you want Runhome to handle the job, you approve one price that covers the contractor's work and Runhome managing it. Runhome's fee is part of that price, not a separate charge. New customers who get an estimate also get $50 off their first repair.
How fast can Runhome get my repair done?
Runhome gives you a ballpark price estimate almost instantly. Depending on the type of job and how much information you've shared, Runhome may send a contractor to verify conditions before it confirms the price. After you approve, Runhome schedules the work around your calendar. For urgent problems like active leaks or no heat, Runhome calls three contractors at once to get you service as fast as possible.
What kinds of home projects does Runhome handle?
Runhome handles home repair and maintenance across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, handyman, painting, and general repairs. Common jobs include garbage disposals, running toilets, leaks under sinks, water heater replacements, electrical panel work, and roof repairs. Runhome also prices every item on a home inspection report, reviews contractor quotes you already have, and manages recurring services like gutter cleaning and HVAC tune-ups. For larger renovations, Runhome scopes the project and manages the specialists who do the work.
How does Runhome vet contractors?
Runhome verifies every contractor before sending them a job. Verification covers licensing where state or local law requires it, insurance, and a documented service history. Runhome picks the contractor for each job based on the type of work, location, and availability, so you don't have to compare bids yourself.
Where is Runhome available?
Runhome takes jobs across the United States. Runhome started in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and manages repairs anywhere it can line up vetted contractors, which covers most US addresses. To confirm coverage for your home, start a free estimate and Runhome will tell you right away.
How is Runhome different from Angi, Thumbtack, or HomeAdvisor?
Lead marketplaces sell your request to several contractors, who then call you, and you compare bids and manage the job yourself. Runhome works for you instead: it doesn't sell your information, it calls the contractors, negotiates the price, and manages the job until it's done. You deal with Runhome, not a stream of contractor calls.
Can Runhome price my home inspection report?
Yes. Upload your home inspection report and Runhome prices every item on it, so you know what the repairs will cost before closing or before you negotiate with the seller. Runhome can then handle any of those repairs for you.
Can Runhome review a contractor quote I already have?
Yes. Upload the quote or contract and Runhome checks the price and the scope against local benchmarks and tells you whether it's fair, what's missing, and what to push back on. If you'd rather not deal with it, Runhome can take over the job.
Can Runhome manage my whole home, not just one repair?

Runhome takes a small management fee on each job, included in the one price you approve. The fee is usually around 10% on small jobs and tops out around $100 on bigger jobs. It pays for Runhome to find, vet, call, negotiate with, and schedule contractors for you. Runhome doesn't sell your information to contractors or charge contractors for leads, so it works for you, not for them.
