Floor slopes and interior walls crack
A floor that slopes with cracks in the walls above it means the support under that part of the house has moved, not that the foundation is collapsing. Roll a ball across the floor and find the low point, then look directly below it for a sagging beam, a leaning post, or settled piers. Movement in one area, over a crawlspace or a chimney, is usually a support repair rather than a foundation rebuild. Cracks that run through several rooms, or that widen week by week, need a structural engineer before anyone quotes a repair.
