Laminate countertop is burned and bubbled from a hot pan

A burn that is rough and hard but still firmly bonded is surface damage, and a pro fills it, colour-matches it and seals it in one visit. Press the bubbled spot with your thumb. Firm means the damage stopped at the laminate. Soft, hollow or lifting at the edges means the particleboard core took heat or moisture, and filler will crack over it. Nobody can tell those two apart from a photo, so get the spot pressed in person before anyone orders a new top.
